What Is LINCOCIN?
Lincocin is an antibiotic containing lincomycin as a main ingredient and is involved in curing serious bacterial infections in people who are sensitive to penicillin antibiotics.
Lincocin is used only for serious infections. This drug will not cure a viral infection such as a common cold or flu.
Uses of LINCOCIN:
LINCOCIN is utilized in the cure of serious infections caused by sensitive strains of bacteria such as
- Pneumococci
- Streptococci
- Staphylococci
LINCOCIN acts by killing or inhibiting the growth of strains of bacteria producing infection. The particular infections for which LINCOCIN is selected include:
- Infection of ear
- Infection of throat
- Skin infections
- Lung infections
- Infections of the blood
- Bone and joint infections
LINCOCIN will not act against viral infections like colds or flu.
Side effects of LINCOCIN:
Get instant medical help if you are suffering from an allergic reaction (such as difficulty breathing, hives, swelling in your face or throat) or a serious skin reaction (like fever, burning eyes, sore throat, skin pain, purple or red skin rash with peeling and blistering).
Consult your physician if you have:
- Severe abdominal pain
- Watery or bloody diarrhea (even if it happens months after your last dose);
- Problem with urination
- Red or swollen gums
- Ulcers or blisters in the mouth,
- Difficulty with swallowing
- The yellow color of the eyes or skin is called jaundice.
- Low level of blood cells
- Fever
- Tiredness
- Chills
- Easy bruising
- Skin sores
- Unusual bleeding
- Yellow skin
- Feeling a light headache or shortness of breath
- Nausea
- Vomiting
- Swollen tongue causing pain
- Vaginal itching or discharge
- Ringing in ears causing tinnitus
- Dizziness
- Hyper-sensitivity reactions

Precautions:
LINCOCIN should be given with care in patients having a history of asthmatic attack or allergic reactions.
LINCOCIN should be given with care in persons with a history of gastrointestinal problems, particularly in colitis.
Drug Interactions:
Lincocin have neuromuscular blocking action that may increase the action of other neuromuscular blocking agents; so, it should be given with care in individuals consuming such agents.
Some other products that can react with this drug include macrolide antibiotics (such as clarithromycin, azithromycin and erythromycin).
