What is montiget?

Montelukast sodium present as an active ingredient in montiget.Montelukast sodium is a selective leukotriene receptor antagonist and it is orally active. It is believed that the stimulation of the CysLT1 receptor by circulating leukotrienes contributes to the pathogenesis of asthma. . It suppresses both the early and late bronchoconstrictor reactions to inhaled allergens or irritations, although it is ineffective for treating asthma attacks that are just starting to flare up.

Indications/Uses of Montiget:

Montiget is used in chronic treatment of asthma, including prevention of day and nighttime symptoms, used in the treatment of aspirin-sensitive asthmatic patients and prevention of exercise-induced bronchoconstriction. It is also used to relieve symptoms of seasonal allergic rhinitis in adults and pediatric 2-year-old patients.
